Marlborough Town Walk – 2 September

2nd September – Marlborough Town Walk (all day) – Nick Baxter from the Marlborough History Society will lead a two-part walk around this important and historic Wiltshire town. From a tumulus dating from 2400BC to the present busy market town with the second widest High Street in Britain, the town has seen plenty of colourful action in its long history.

Meeting time and place: Most of the parking is time-limited but there is a long-stay car park at George Lane (SN8 4BX), behind the High Street. The first part of the walk will start at 10.30am outside the Library (91 High Street) and finish around 12.15 – 12.30pm outside the Castle and Ball PH ). The second part will begin at the Castle and Ball between 13.30 – 13.45pm and end in the High Street at around 15.00pm. Cost: £10
