Bath’s sedan chair garages sold for £159k

The last two sedan chair ‘garages’ in the UK have been sold for £159,000. They were auctioned by Bath and North East Somerset Council for commercial use, and expected to reach just £25,000 each.

The Grade II listed buildings, East and West Sedan Chair House, Queen’s Parade Place, were built in 1734 by John Wood the Elder and were used originally for storing sedan chairs.
