In Radstock, on the former line from Frome to Bristol, stands an Engine shed, built in the 1860’s to service the engines running on the broad gauge track. A local community-led company (Norton Radstock Regeneration) is responsible for restoring this blue lias-built building, putting back the original style of roof, and providing it with a purpose for the future.
Investigation shows that there are a number of features remaining beneath the grass and scrub around it, and the owners would welcome some help and skills from local archaeologists with a more thorough investigation.
If anyone would like to help with bringing a much neglected building come back to life, please could they email office@bacas.org.uk and we will put you in contact.
