Prof. Maurice Tucker, Visiting Professor at the University of Bristol is a leading British sedimentologist and has been involved in the Archway Project at the Roman Baths. As part of this work to establish a Learning Centre in the former city laundry in Swallow Street, Prof. Tucker has been working with the University of Bournemouth to investigate local quarry sources for the Bath stone used by the Romans. We will hear whether X-ray Fluorescence Analysis (XRF) has helped to establish where the Romans obtained their building materials.
