The Festival of Archaeology goes online, 11-19 July
The Council for British Archaeology’s Festival is going digital next week. It is still hoped to run the main festival from 24 October to 1 November, pandemic permitting.
Meanwhile, there are already over 100 events listed for the next week. To see what is available, go to https://festival.
BACAS is a joint sponsor of our regional digital event, Bristol’s Brilliant Archaeology. Join us and a whole host of other local societies, heritage organisations, re-enactors and field archaeologists as we bring archaeology to you!
There are films, family activities, quizzes, Iron Age and Roman cookery, and talks on archaeological projects and discoveries. Take on Bristol Libraries’ archaeology inspired Lego challenge on Monday 13 July at 11am.
Bookings now open for all talks. All the films, quizzes and resources will be released on museum channels throughout the festival period but here are a few dates for your diaries:
- 13 July: Lego archaeology challenge with Bristol Libraries – 11am
- 13 July: Archaeology and the historic environment – 2pm
- 15 July: Archaeology in lockdown – 2pm
- 17 July: Archaeology at the Ministry of Defence – 2pm
