Online Lectures Coming Soon

We regret that our autumn lectures at BRLSI have had to be cancelled. However, we have an exciting new initiative in development. We are going into partnership with two other societies, Bristol and Avon (BAAS) and Bristol and Gloucestershire (BGAS), and Bristol Museums to launch a programme of online lectures.

The lectures will be free and society members will have a priority booking period before it is thrown open to the world. The programme is being worked on, but it is likely there will be a lecture a month, starting 14th October, at 7:30 pm, using Zoom.

The aim is to feature some well-known names who are experts in their field. One of our scheduled autumn speakers, Cat Jarman, has already agreed to give her talk on the Great Viking Army at Repton online, and she will launch the series on 14th October. When some other dates are finalised we will send out more news. This doesn’t mean we have given up on the real world lectures – as soon as we can get them going again, we will.
