The Clive Peacock Award goes to the nominated member who has made a significant contribution to BACAS.
John Richards gave the address at the AGM in March 2026:
“This year’s recipient is notable for carrying out his duties efficiently and with no fuss. Without him, we could not operate. For the last seven years he has steered the society’s finances. When he took on the role of Treasurer in 2019, the available funds stood at £12,000. They have now grown to £22,000. Let’s hope the new treasurer can do as good a job!
The Clive Peacock Award for 2026 goes to Roger Underhill.
Unfortunately, Roger could not be with us tonight, so I would like to ask Roger Wilkes if he will come up to accept the award on Roger’s behalf.”
(The award was a copy of the book, G A Richardson’s Somerset & Dorset Line.)

About the Clive Peacock Memorial Award
Clive was a very active member of BACAS and the Committee decided to grant, in his memory, an annual award to the nominated member who is considered to have made the most important contribution to the Society during the previous year.
